There are many groups of compounds, including flavonoids, bioflavonoids, procyanidins and tannins present, however, the main active constituent is accepted as being hypericin.

Active Botanicals St John's Wort provides 300 mg of hypericum extract per capsule, standardised to 0.33% hypericin.
