Description: Headway 5 Topical Solution is a clear, colourless to slightly yellow solution. The colour will not alter the effectiveness of the product.

Category:
Hair growth stimulant.

Indications:
Headway 5 is a topical treatment for the promotion of hair growth on the head. It has been shown to grow hair on the scalp of men and women who are bald or balding.

Contraindications:
Headway 5 is contraindicated in those patients with a history of hypersensitivity (allergy) to minoxidil, propylene glycol or alcohol.

Warnings and Precautions:
1. Discontinue use of Headway 5 and check with your doctor, if any of the following side effects occur:

• Irritation of the scalp such as severe itching, burning, rash or soreness at the roots of the hair.
• Swelling or puffiness of face, feet or lower legs.
• Fast or irregular heart beat.
• Rapid weight gain.
• Chest pain.
• Numbness or tingling of hands, feet or face.
• Dizziness, fainting, light-headedness or headaches.
• Blurred vision.

2. Keep Headway 5 away from eyes, nose and mouth. If you should accidentally get some in your eyes, nose or mouth, flush the area thoroughly with cool tap water. If irritation persists contact your doctor.

3. Do NOT breathe in the spray mist or swallow Headway 5. It is for external use only.

4. Keep Headway 5 and all medicines out of reach of children.

5. Do NOT use Headway 5 if you are pregnant or nursing

CONSUMER INFORMATION
1. Headway 5 is to be used twice per day at 12-hourly intervals. Spray on to the centre of the bald area and gently massage, spreading to cover the entire affected area.
Do NOT use more than the recommended dose - this will not cause the hair to grow or thicken more quickly. Do NOT use a hairdryer to speed the drying of Headway 5 solution on the scalp. Blowing air on the scalp may even decrease Headway 5's effectiveness.
Headway 5 must only be applied to the scalp. Do NOT use Headway 5 on any other part of the body.

2. Headway 5 will NOT produce noticeable regrowth or thickening of hair before at least 4 to 6 months of continuous use.

3. If you stop using Headway 5 any new hair growth or thickening can be expected to be lost 3 to 4 months after the withdrawal of the treatment and progressive hair loss will resume.

4. Headway 5 can be used by both men and women.

5. Headway 5 may not work for everyone. The younger you are the more chance of success; but factors such as the length of time you have been bald or balding, the location of the bald area (the crown is more responsive than the temples) and the size of the balding area all have an influence on the success of Headway 5.

Dosage and Use:
Wash your hair daily using a mild shampoo. Apply Headway 5 when your hair and scalp are thoroughly dry. Apply 1ml (4 sprays) of Headway 5 twice per day at 12-hourly intervals, to the centre of your bald or balding area. Gently rub into your scalp spreading over the entire affected area. Do NOT use more than 2ml daily.

Avoid contact with eyes and irritated skin. Wash your hands thoroughly after applying Headway 5.

Storage: Store between 15° and 30°C. Keep container tightly closed. Do not use near naked flame or incandescent object.

SELECTION OF THE APPLICATOR
The method of application depends on which of the applicators you use:

A. Pump Spray Applicator
This is the applicator supplied on the bottle at the time of purchase. Headway 5 applied using the pump spray applicator works best for large areas of the scalp.

B. Extended Spray-Tip Applicator
This is the applicator supplied loose in the pack at the time of purchase. Headway 5 applied using the extended spray-tip applicator works best for small areas of the scalp and under the hair.
Replace the pump spray applicator with the extended spray-tip applicator by:
1. Pulling the pump spray head off the assembly.
2. Fitting the extended spray-tip applicator onto the spray shaft and pushing down firmly.

METHOD OF APPLICATION
1. Prime the pump by spraying out approximately 4 sprays until an even spray is apparent.
2. Aim the applicator toward the centre of the bald area of the scalp or under the hair, press the pump once and spread Headway 5 with fingertips to cover all of the bald or balding area. Repeat for a total of 4 times, to apply a dose of 1ml. (4 sprays = 1ml).
