Anti-Flamme Herbal Relief Creme
Indications: Anti-Flamme is a clean to use creme that should be the
first choice for strained muscles, joint pain, bumps, bruises, and common
sports injuries. Suitable for use before and after spinal manipulation
to ease the discomfort, and for overuse syndromes.
Ingredients Extracts of Arnica Montana, Hypericum Perforatum [St Johns
Wort], Calendula Officinalis and the essential oil of Peppermint.
Arnica Montana - A herb, commonly just called Arnica, that has been
used for centuries by herbalists and medicine folk for it's beneficial
effects in reducing pain and bruising associated with common injuries.
Arnica is probably one of the most widely known and prescribed herbs,
particularly in places like Germany where over 100 drug products are
available with Arnica in the formulation. It was not long ago that many
pharmacies in NZ still dispensed Arnica based cremes for such complaints
but this lost popularity with the availability of easily prepared and
cheaper synthetic anti-inflammatory. Arnica has gained much popularity
in homeopathic circles for its use as the first remedy for any trauma.
(In Anti-Flamme we use the pure herb extract and it is not subject to
the homeopathic principles of destruction by strong aromatic substances
such as peppermint.)
Hypericum Perforatum - This herb is commonly known as St. Johns Wort.
It's historical use has been for the relief of pain associated with
local nerve damage such as might be found in sporting type injuries
or common back complaints. Again we use a pure herb extract in our preparation.
Calendula Officinalis - Calendula is known for its soothing action on
irritated tissue. It is often found in cosmetics, in wound salves, and
even eyewashes. It was a favourite herb of the Arabian horsemen, who
fed it to their steeds for its beneficial effects on the circulatory
system.
Peppermint - The essential oil of Peppermint is commonly used for it's
cooling sensation along with the feeling of deeper penetration. It also
encourages an increased blood flow to the local area.
Characteristics: Anti-Flamme is the ideal choice for all acute injuries
where the skin is not broken and can also be applied before or after
ice treatment. It rapidly soothes pain and inflamed tissue, making it
an excellent massage medium before or after spinal manipulation, and
during joint articulation in rehabilitation therapy. For patient home
use it can be applied as often as required - usually 3-4 times per day.
With excessive use a localised skin irritation may arise but quickly
disappears once application is reduced.
Anti-Flamme ORAL"
HERBAL JOINT FORMULA with Glucosamine
Indications: Anti-Flamme Oral. Provides a unique combination of herbs,
vitamins, minerals and Glucosamine, the basic building block of joint
tissue. When the spine or other joints become damaged or worn normal
movement is restricted and often painful. Anti-Flamme Oral provides
intense nutritional support targeted directly to assist with joint function
and mobility. Suitable for use in conjunction with Anti-Flamme creme
but able to provide specific nutrients for speedy development of cartilage,
discs, joint fluid and ligaments. Anti-Flamme creme is ideal for topical
application to assist muscle and soft tissue mobility while Anti-Flamme
ORAL is taken internally to provide support to the deeper joint structures.
Ingredients: Extracts of Hypericum perforatum (St. Johns Wort), Piper
methysticum (Kava Kava), Willow Bark (natural aspirin), Glucosamine
sulphate, Calcium ascorbate, Manganese sulphate and Zinc oxide. Hypericum
perforatum This herb is commonly known as St. Johns Wort. It's historical
use has been for the relief of pain associated with local nerve damage
such as might be found in common neck and back problems, degenerative
joint arthritis, and sporting type injuries. Piper methysticum Knawn
as Kava, this plant root has very strong muscle relaxant properties
and analgesic effects (pain relieving) making it useful to ease soft
tissue contractions that always accompany pain and injury. Willow bark
Mother Nature's aspirin. Willow bark contains salicin, a natural precursor
to salicylic acid (aspirin). Enjoy all the beneficial anti-inflammatory
properties of aspirin without the upset stomach side effects. Willow
and Kava have been shown to work synergistically increasing each other's
potential. Glacosamine sulphate The major building block of joint tissue,
cartilage and ligaments. Glucosamine is normally manufactured by the
body but production of this vital joint substance decreases with age
and is often insufficient following injury. Glucosamine is sourced from
crustacean shells such as shrimps. Calcium ascorbate Vitamin C. Studies
show that Glucosamine is more readily absorbed and utilised by the body
when it is taken in balanced proportions with vitamin C and Manganese
and Zinc.
How it works: Joints are the connections of 2 or more bones. These bones
are tied together and held in place by ligaments. Most joints have a
slice of cartilage wedged between them to form a bearing surface. The
entire joint is then surrounded by a protective tissue, like a plastic
bag, which holds joint fluid. This fluid is the lubricating substance
of our joints. This system is much the same for spinal joints and for
the joints of the limbs such as the knee. The major building block of
the cartilage, protective tissue, ligaments, fluid and the tendon attachments
is Glucosaminoglycans (GAGS). This substance is formed in the body from
Glucosamine. As we age our body's ability to form fresh GAGS decreases
and hence we become more arthritic and our joint injuries are slower
to heal. Sometimes not healing at all. Modern research and clinical
trials have shown that a daily intake of Glucosamine can dramatically
improve the integrity of our joints thereby reducing the effect of joint
injuries, and wear and tear.
Dosage: May be taken with or without food. Use strictly as directed
Short Term Use - 2 tablets up to 4 times daily (up to 12 weeks) Long
Term Use - 1 tablet 3 x daily as required Children under 10 seek Health
Professional advice. Not suitable for use during pregnancy.
Note: The action of the herbs, Hypericum, Kava and Willow, will begin
to take effect usually within 4 6 hours of the first dose. However,
for the greatest benefits of Anti-Flamme ORAL it is advisable to take
a high dose of 2 tablets 3 or 4 times daily for 4 21 days to gain a
buildup of Glucosamine in the body. Gradually reduce to a long term
dose as mobility and joint function improves.
