Devil's Claw was used by native Africans as a remedy for diseases ranging from liver and kidney disorders, to allergies, headaches and rheumatism.

Today, it is used primarily in inflammatory conditions, such as inflamed joints and in the relief of associated symptoms.

Its action in the body is believed to be due to the presence of a glycoside called harpagoside that may be involved in reducing inflammation of the joints. It may have analgesic properties and may be useful for the relief of a number of symptoms associated with inflammation of body joints.

Active Botanicals Devil's Claw is extracted from the tuber and is standardised to contain 2% harpagosides, which guarantees high activity in every capsule. Each 233 mg of standardised extract provides 700 mg of dry herb equivalent.

Directions for Use

  • Adults - One capsule, three times a day (with food), or as professionally prescribed.
  • Low allergy formulation.
  • No added sugar, wheat, salt, corn, milk, yeast, glutens, artificial colouring, flavouring or preservatives.
  • Capsules of vegetable origin.

Indications for Use
Devil's Claw is successfully used for the maintenance of the health of body joints. Devil's Claw may help in the prevention of degenerative conditions of the joints when taken on an ongoing daily basis. It may also be taken to help reduce the heat and swelling associated with inflamed joints, in the short term.

Devil's Claw is recommended for anyone suffering such symptoms as aching or stiff joints, hot or inflamed joints and for anyone with a family history of arthritis.

Contraindications
Not to be used during pregnancy unless under the supervision of a qualified practitioner. Care should be taken with those suffering from peptic ulcers.
